  25. You didn't specify your set-up, but if you're using Windows for Workgroups 
  26. 3.11, you should be aware that the original serial.386 VxD issued an extra 
  27. 'esc' character on exit.

  29. While real 16550A UART chips didn't mind, some integrated chip-sets used in 
  30. early Pentium machines contained UART cells that did; they would hang until 
  31. the machine was re-booted.

  33. Microsoft rewrote serial.386, and has the corrected version available for 
  34. download from their free software library at
  35.

  38. Use the search engine to look for "serial.386" and download it, if you're 
  39. using WFW.
